Netherlands: Highly educated Turks, Moroccans not impressed by the Dutch

I previously reported about this study, but this article adds more information.

------------

Highly educated Turkish and Moroccan second generation immigrants don't have a more positive attitude towards the Dutch than less educated immigrants. They do feel loyal to the Netherlands, but they're not exactly crazy about the Dutch.

This according to a study presented for a doctorate at Radboud University in Nijmegen by scientist Jochem Tolsma. It is known, says the scientist, that the tolerance of Dutch towards immigrants grows accordingly as the educational level increases, but it appears that the opposite is not true.

Highly educated immigrants use Dutch media and therefore have a better understand of the land in which they live. But in this media the Moroccan-Dutch in particular also see a lot of negative attention directed at their ethnic group, which according to Tolsma may explain why they in particular don't like the Dutch so much.

Tolsma summarizes this part of his study by asking: is the lack of integration due to the immigrant or the ethnic Dutch?
